Is There a Link?
Once upon a time the 'Big Daddy' of Psychiatry wrote many theories about human emotions.
He believed that the subconscious could tell us what was lurking in the deepest darkest reaches of our mind, surmising that when we draw or dream about water, it is a clue to that information.
Many contemporary philosophies explore this same thoery.

What relationship do you have with water?
Do you live near water?

Have you noticed an effect on or around the full moon?

Do you have drainage problems, dripping taps, mould, a leaking roof around you - at work or at home?



Diachotomy: Gentleness and Power
Water has immense power.
Glaciers and rivers can carve channels in solid rock.
Tidal waves can destroy cities.

And yet,

We are drawn to the water's edge to regain our sense of stillness in the hustle and bustle of our everyday life.
Many people journey for hundreds of miles to holiday by the sea or participate in spiritual rituals.
We bathe to cleanse body and soul.


Chinese Traditional Medicine relates what is happening in our body/mind to the energies of nature. One theory connects our organs of water (kidneys and bladder) to the emotion of fear, and when the patient experiences and excess of fear (panic, terror) the TCM practitioner may look to the kidneys to treat an imbalance of energy.

One interpretation of the Biblical story about Jesus walking on water suggests that this Man had the ability to rise above common, human emotions and therefore, was operating from a 'higher' intelligence.

Tarot cards interpret the water element within the suit of cups and will use the images to help the client understand their current emotional state.
